Jo Ann Hajer (nee Miller)

Jo Ann Hajer passed away quietly the morning of June 26th, 2022 at the age of 88.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard J. Hajer.
She was the proud mother of James Randall “Randy” Hajer (Margie); the late Michael W. Tucker; Victoria L. Gartner (Mike) and Michele A. Thornberry (Les).
She adored her grandchildren: Richard Douglas Hajer, Samantha Jo Raber, John Michael Walsh, Jessica Michelle Lemmer (Wyatt), Casmir Michael Thornberry (Ana Sofia), and Cameron Ray Thornberry. She had 8 great-grandchildren.

Jo Ann Hajer was an incredible, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger and became fast friends with anyone she met. She was selfless and she loved unconditionally, and in return, was deeply loved by her siblings, many nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children.
Jo Ann lived a very active life giving to others and was an avid sewing enthusiast. Over the years, she volunteered across Cincinnati, including with Kindervelt, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Crayons to Computers, the Cincinnati Zoosters, and numerous other community organizations – when she wasn’t repairing her grandkids’ torn clothes. She always enjoyed a good Coke or Dr. Pepper. She felt her greatest achievements were her children whom she loved dearly. Jo Ann can rest peacefully knowing she achieved all she dreamed of since she was a young girl in Conway, Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, 45224. Funeral service will also take place at Hodapp Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Jo Ann will be laid to rest immediately following, at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
