Aaron Burns Craig

CRAIG, Aaron Burns, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 with his family. He was born in Mt. Olivet, Ky on September 4, 1923 to Robert Morton and Nancy (McConnell) Craig. He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 49 years, Esther Ruth Craig; daughter, Christine Mitchell; and 11 brothers and sisters: Myrtle Bernaugh Craig, Margarette McLona Craig, Melvin Craig, Kenneth Craig, Hugh Barton Craig, Bertie Louise Craig, Leonard Craig, Mary Ann Craig, Roy Craig, and Robert Craig.
Mr. Craig served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class from 1942 to 1946. He retired from Siemens as a Floor Supervisor in 1990. Aaron was a very humble man and always offered to help people. He served as a trustee on the board at the Ripley Nazarene Church and on the side was a master craftsman. As a handy man he often worked at his church or in his garage fixing up antique cars, repairing roofs, etc. No matter what the job was he would make sure it got done. He made friends wherever he went and if you were to have lunch at the local McDonalds you were bound to find at least a few who would stop by and say hello to him. Aaron Craig never took a moment on this Earth for granted. If you asked him how he was doing he would either say, “A-ok!” or “The good Lord woke me up today and we have to be thankful for that.” He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his three children: Richard Craig (Janice), Karon Felter (Chris), and Douglas Craig; His five grandchildren: Trina Joachimi, Joshua Brake, Jonathan Brake, Nicholas Mitchell, Courtney Craig and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private funeral will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd., West Chester, Ohio 45069. Burial to follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45236-3597
