HEGER, Barbara A. (nee Devine)

On September 27th Barbara Ann Heger went with the angels to be in the presence of the lord. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara was raised in the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. She loved the annual fair and the many characters she came in contact with. Barbara spent her career as a dedicated nurse. She loved her “old people” in the nursing home providing loving and nurturing her patients. What Barbara loved the most was her family. She phoned them frequently and always finished the conversation with “I love you” Barbara’s cheerful personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was known to give her opinion without flinching. Among the many favorite things Barbara enjoyed was her daily lunch of a bologna with onion sandwich. At family gatherings Barbara was famous for her homemade chicken and dumplings along with wacky cake for dessert. She was informed that her specialties are a must at every family gathering. Barbara would chuckle when her son’s and great grandson teased her on the phone saying, “they are about to drive me crazy” with their humor. Barbara loved her cat “puddin” no matter how many times it bit her. Above all else Barbara loved her husband Jim, who shared her daily life. His dedication was never ending. The last words Barbara spoke was reciting Psalm 23. Barbara’s last few days was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living her life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was the beloved wife of James “Jim” Heger for 34 years. Loving mother of Sandy (Mike) Cohen, William (Kim) Hammond and James (Anita) Potter, Victoria (Jay) Westendorf and James Heger. Cherished grandmother of Jamie Kersey, Andrew Cohen, Jason Hammond, Brandon Potter, Kyle Potter, Emily Potter, Zachary Westendorf, Seth Westendorf, Brady Heger, Cameron Heger, AJ Angeloveski, Brandy Engleman. Great-grandmother Rebecca, Josh, Abigail, Austin, Nikki, Heidi and Dallas. Sister of John (Rose) Hensley. Passed away September 27, 2021 at the age of 80. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at All Saints Church 8939 Montgomery Rd., Montgomery, Saturday at 10AM. Condolences to hodappfuneralhome.com
