Barbara Ann "Sis" Listermann
September 1, 1940 — August 6, 2019
Listermann, Barbara A. (nee Hughes), 78, passed peacefully in the presence of her family on August 6th, 2019. Survived by the love of her life of 58 years, Aloysius "Ollie" Listermann. Beloved mother of Mark (Conny) Listermann, Mary Beth (Sean) Connolly, David (Laureen) Listermann, Thomas (Lori) Listermann, Brian Listermann and Matthew Listermann. Dear sister of Judy Hughes, Pete Hughes, and the late Joseph Hughes. Preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Alice (nee Hughes. Loving grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Barb dedicated her life to her family and found no greater joy than surrounding herself with her loved ones. She built a strong foundation with God and treasured bringing her family together in prayer. As a St. Maximilian Kolbe parishioner, she devoted her time to visiting nursing homes and praying the rosary with residents and other parishioners. Barb always enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, rarely missing a game, and was an avid Reds and Bengals fan. In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling, softball, listening to the Carpenters and Elvis, and playing games like Scrabble and cards. She cherished vacationing with her family, as well as her fun-loving in-laws. Our sweet Barb was a gentle soul with a heart full of grace, who loved unconditionally and lived life “one day at a time.”
Our mom, grandma, beloved wife, and dear sister will forever be our Star in the sky, our Rainbow after a storm, and the Wind beneath our wings.
Special thanks to all the nurses, caregivers at Bella Care and the dedicated aides at Personal Senior Care Homes, who took great care of Mom over the past year. They shared in our tears.
Visitation will be held at St Maximilian Kolbe church, 5720 Hamilton Mason Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45011, Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Bella Care Celebrate Life
