Born March 21, 1937 in Lake Forest, IL, Charlie attended Le Rosey and Deerfield Academy, received a master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University, where he also played varsity soccer and was a member of Quill and Dagger; he later served in the US Navy and then moved to Cincinnati and worked for P&G.
