To the dear Altenau family, I was fortunate to come to know Jerry through our playing together at the Franciscan Games. What a holy and wonderful Franciscan gentleman! I also had the joy of meeting his lovely wife Pattie. Jerry, please pray for all of us as you surely behold the radiant face of our God. Prayers, Maureen Fullam, Franciscan Sisters of the Poor

Jerry was one of the great Box 13 guys to come around the fire station (E19) and actively particpate on the fire department when I first-started with Cincinnati.
He visited the guys on holidays, attended promotional ceremonies and memorial services, and went out of his way at fires to help hundreds of guys over the years if for nothing more because they wore ‘CFD’ on their fire coat.
No one had a bigger heart and few have loved CFD more than Jerry did. Thanks, buddy, we’ll miss you. -Ed

Gerry was my brother thru good and bad times. He gave of himself to all that needed a little help along the way.He had a heart full of love and caring for everyone he met. I know that he is in heaven, seated next to the nuns that he loved and just asking them; “Who can we help next Sister.” I love you my brother.
