James Wingo Watson, age 62, died at his home in West Chester, Ohio on April 12, 2012 after a 6 month battle with stomach cancer. Born December 06, 1949 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Jim earned his BA in Finance with honors from the University of Kentucky and earned his MBA from Xavier University. Mr. Watson was one of the first two hundred Human Resources Professionals in the US to earn the GPHR, Global Professional Human Resources Certification. Jim started his career with Procter and Gamble in 1976 and was most recently the Vice President of Human Resources for Pro Mach Inc. Jim was a father to Brian Christopher and William Gregory Watson. During his lifetime he was an active participant in all of their endeavors especially in music as the Lakota West Band treasurer and a member of the pit crew. Jim served in the National Guard, officiated high school football in Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, and enjoyed playing golf. During high school Jim was an outstanding baseball player and was awarded a scholarship to UVA to play baseball. Jim will be especially remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Deborah Watson, son Brian Watson and daughter-in-law Sarah, son Gregory Watson and fiancée Amanda Millar, brother Louis Watson and his wife Carolyn, nephew Jeffery Watson and niece, Amy Watson. Visitation will be held Monday April 16th at Hodapp Funeral Home LIBERTY TWP. 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. Liberty Twp. OH, 45044 from 5 PM until time of service at 7 PM. Burial will be held in private. Friends and relatives are welcome at the visitation and service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the (checks made out to UC Foundation) UC Cancer Institute c/o the UC Foundation PO Box 670544 Cincinnati, Ohio 45221-0544. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to the family of Mr. Watson.
