Rehm, Jean “Jeannie” Ward Rehm, 83, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Hospice of Cincinnati. Beloved mother of Janet (Tim) Ryan, Susan (Joe) Gatto, and Nancy(Scott) McCloskey, loving grandmother of Philip Gatto, Catherine Gatto, Elizabeth Gatto, Peter Gatto, Melanie Ryan, Cole McCloskey and Bobby McCloskey, dear cousin of Michael and Jean Mathis, and former wife of Dr. Robert Rehm. Jeannie was born on January 28, 1927 to John Raymond and Dorothy Farrar Ward of Madisonville, Ohio whose first permanent setter was Joseph Ward, a Revolutionary War veteran from New Jersey. He built the first house, a log cabin in 1797, along an old Indian trail. Joseph Ward was 5 generations prior to Jeannie. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School, class of 1944 and also a graduate of DePaw University of 1949, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Jean was a long-time teacher and piano player for B.E.A.R.S. Preschool and Mount View Baptist Early Learning Center in Upper Arlington Ohio. She also knit for Touching Little Lives, The Brooklyn and Greenwich Women’s Exchanges. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd.
