Juanell Smithson

Juanell R Smithson (nee Votaw), known to friends and family as Nell, was born on June 10th, 1959 and sadly was taken from us on March 30th, 2021.  She is survived by her husband Ronnie Smithson, after 38 years of true love and marriage.  Mother of Rickey Bond Jr. and Ronald Smithson III.  Grandmother to Brianna, Gavin, Payton, Abby, Charleigh and Hayden.  Baby sister to Bobbie, Jackie, Johnny and Jimmy.  She is survived by many relatives, friends and pets. A Memorial Visitation will take place at the Hodapp Funeral Home 7401 Vine St., Carthage, Friday from 11AM until Funeral Service at 1PM. Juanell was a lover of animals and cared for many different types of animals during her life including dogs, cats, squirrels and raccoons, just to name a few.  Donations in memory of Juanell can be made to:
