Leoma Ann Johnson (nee Thompson and formerly Smith) beloved wife of 52 years to Ralph Johnson and 10 years to the late Bennie Jay Smith went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the age of 82. Lea, as she was known to friends, was the devoted mother to Cathy (Wayne) French and Christopher (Tammy) Johnson. She was the loving grandmother to Jason French, Jessica (David) Lewicki, Andrew Johnson and Kaylea Johnson. She also leaves behind her dear sister Janelle (Bob) Beaty, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many very special friends. Lea was preceded in death by her parents, Casper Virgil and Mannie Alice Thompson, four brothers and four sisters.
Lea was a devoted Christian, and currently a member of the Blue Ash Church of Christ. Professionally she owned and operated her own custom drapery shop and took lead in the design and decorating aspect of her husband’s custom home business. She was an avid walker doing 4-5 miles every morning until she became ill. Lea loved spending time with family, puzzles, bowling, playing cards, gardening and strawberry shortcake! Her smile, her laugh, and hugs will be missed.
Lea loved flowers, but we know she would most appreciate you planting one in your own garden to enjoy this summer rather than sending one to her. You may also donate to Hospice of Cincinnati or the charity of your choice.
