OSNER, Marcellus Passed away, Thursday, June 11, 2009, age 80. Husband of Jessie Neuhaus for 57 years. Father of Tim (Patty), Ted (Glenda) and Toby. Grandpa of Katy Mills, Tim, Tracey, Ryan, Korie and Drew Osner. Great grandpa of Marcus and Timothy Asher Osner. Preceded in death by sons Todd and Tommy Osner, daughter Terry Mills, parents Charles and Helen Osner, siblings Laura Luers, Rose Walter, Charles, Robert and Elmer Osner. Marce was born in Bethany, Ohio in 1929 and moved to West Chester in 1939 where he lived until 2003. He attended Union Township High School and St. John Church in West Chester. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at General Motors as an auditor and retired after 30 years. He then worked at G.E. Capital until he retired in 1994. He was active in and proud of West Chester serving as Township Trustee and Clerk; he was an original member of Union Township Fire Department and Life Squad. When he was trustee he was instrumental in organizing the Police Department. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7696, American Legion Post and K of C. He volunteered for Reach Out Lakota, Habitat for Humanity and Lebanon Food Pantry. He served as president of the Southern Ohio Clerks and Trustees Association. He was honored by serving as grand marshal for the West Chester Memorial Day Parade. Marce loved sports – played basketball and softball; encouraged his children to play and was an avid Bengal and Reds fan. Visitation at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cinti-Columbus Rd. (Rt. 42), West Chester, on Monday, June 15 from 5 – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis De Sales Church, 20 Desales Ave., Lebanon, on Tuesday at 10:30 am. Burial will be at West Chester Township Cemetery.
