Leave a message of condolence

Matthew Joseph Moeddel, Beloved son of Audrey Ruth and the late Robert Moeddel, loving father of Wilson the pug, brother of Joshua (Melissa) Moeddel and Bethany Moeddel, and loved by many other family and friends.

Matt was a friend to everyone and enjoyed spending his time watching Norte Dame football, watching the Cincinnati Reds game and most important with his dog, Wilson. Matt was known for his work at Bridgeway Pointe being the terrific nurse he was. When he wasn’t working would vacation down to the Smokey Mountains. Matt was well loved by many in both his work and personal life.

A private visitation will be held to honor the life of Matt and a Memorial Mass of Christian burial will take place at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association and Animal House Shelter (Mt. Health)

I am so sad to learn of Matt’s passing, and have had a hard time finding words… I send my condolences and prayers to Matt’s family, friends, and colleagues. Matt took care of my parents at Burlington House with grace, calm and compassion - as he did with all residents. He always listened to concerns, and was the voice of calm and peace in the midst of whatever might be going on. He always took time to smile and reach out. Friends of mine mentioned that it was Matt who was working nights when their loved ones were first admitted to Burlington House. His welcoming presence helped the families know everything would be all right. I was fortunate to re-connect with Matt at Bridgeway Pointe a few years later when I went there to play music, and was able to share my gratitude with him for his care. I recognize so many of you who wrote in from Burlington House and Bridgeway Pointe, and thank you all for having taken care of my parents at both places, as I thank Matt. I love you all. Matt was taken too soon. Matt, may you RIP. I’ll miss you.

Our sincere condolences and prayers to the Moeddel family. My brother has been a Bridgeway Pointe resident for many years. After a medical incident last year, he was so ready to come back to BP after rehab! Even though it meant more work for Matt and the BP team, Matt agreed to his return rather than staying in rehab longer and they all made it work! Kudos to Matt and the entire BP team!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I want you to know what terrific, kind, caring and embracing person. He brought me in with open arms and we just clicked. Professionally we shared a lot of the same views. I am still in shock but wanted you to know how he touched others.

My prayers go out to the family I met Matt at brookdale and he was an awesome boss and awesome person. This breaks my heart that such a great person has left us so soon. Matt also was a person you could talk to and actually listen not all bosses do that. You will be missed but remembered my friend.

When we see him, we cannot help vividly remembering his father, Robert Moeddel who pass way before his time, like his son. There are no suitable words we can share with Ruth, his mother,Beth, his sister, and Josh, his brother that would express our sincere sadness and sympathy. Mary Lou, and I are painfully saddened with this tragedy and are praying for the entire Moeddel family. We hope you can find peace and comfort in your sorrow as you remember Matt. Matt you were truly one of a kind. You brought out the true meaning of leadership in the work environment. Your positive and upbeat attitudeand calming personality made it absolutely impossible for me to stay upset or have a bad day at work. I have seen you with nothing but a smile on your face and I wondered if you ever get upset about anything. You were the light in the midst of darkness and you sir will truly be missed. Fly high my guy. Dear God comfort Matt's family right now in this time of hurt and pain. I ask that you wipe every tear and make your loving presence known to them. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Matt Moeddel was a kind, caring and compassionate man who excelled as the Director of Nursing at Bridgeway Pointe. I had the honor of meeting Matt when my mother resided at Bridgeway Pointe. A highly skilled nurse, Matt displayed a unique talent for coordinating the competent and complex care of many elderly residents. His sense of humor was consistently evident in his interactions with staff, residents and families. He will be truly missed. I wish his family strength and moments of comfort during this difficult time.

I am very sorry to hear of Matt's passing and my sincere condolences to his family. My mother was resident at Bridgeway Pointe until 2017 and Matt was a magnificent caregiver, achieving little miracles a daughter never could. Even when he had to deliver difficult news, he was the soul of compassion, and courtesy. I wish I'd not let so much time go by without saying "Hello". Godspeed Matt to his eternal rest.

I am saddened to hear of Matt’s passing. I came to know him when he purchased his home in October and also was the culprit who told him where he could find Wilson who I know he adored. He and I had many conversations about our shared love of all things Christmas and our favorite “It’s a Wonderful Life”. I know what a loss this is to your family and how very close you all are. My prayers are with you. Please give Wilson hugs and kisses for me. I know he misses his dad’

Matt was an amazing friend to me growing up and through the years. He was always there to make anyone smile and inspired goodness in every person. Sending love and healing to all his family and friends and comfort in the memories with him and his beautiful smile.
