Richard North was truly a man of God. A leader to our choir, always a word of encouragement or smile just when you needed it. His impact is immense to everyone who knew and loved him. There is a hole in the world where he used to be.

Richard and I grew up together. Knew him from age seven. From 7th grade to the day we graduated from Trevecca together, we were in the same school and same grade. All I can say is “Good God, what a man!” From quarterback for the McMurray Falcons junior high school football team to composer extraordinare, Richard was humble and multi-talented. Truth is, he was my idol. I couldn’t believe the quarterback was my friend. Come to find out, Richard was everybody’s friend. I am a better man because of his friendship. Good God, what a man!

To Brenda, children & grandchildren, Rosalyn, Nancy Jo, Jimmy, and Betty and all family members: Richard was such a wonderful person. I am proud to say I was his cousin even though I didn't get to see him often. I am praying for all of you during this time of sadness - praying for peace and comfort to surround you. Heaven got a wonderful Angel and I'm sure he's making beautiful music up there. May God bless and keep all of you. Love, cousin Carol

Brenda - A brief personal story about your husband. Richard wrote a song while we were suit mates together at TNC entitled "So Sorry Saviour." During our college years Richard taught me to sing and play that song on guitar. For countless years thereafter, during the Christmas season, that song was played and sung in church settings. It was and remains an enduring reminder of a wonderful friendship with a brother I deeply loved, and a man who readily committed his natural talents to the Lord. May God bless and keep you and your family during this time of loss. I look forward to an amazing homecoming in the not too distant future. We love you and your family.
