On Friday, March 26, 2021, Robert Michael Hutzelman, Sr., “Bob”, a loving father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 69.

Bob was born in Hamilton on November 29, 1951, the son of Fred and June Ann Hutzelman.  He graduated from Lakota and went on to receive his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University.  He founded Kingsgate Financial Insurance Agency in 1978 which continues to thrive today.

On June 5, 1976, he wed the late Jane Louise Urmston with whom he enjoyed 24 years of marriage.  Together they are survived by their three children - Robert Michael (Tonye) Hutzelman, David Christopher Hutzelman, and Anne Elizabeth (Derrick) Hutzelman Caudill , and 4 grandchildren Bryce Robert, Andrew Robert, Benjamin Robert, and Hadley Jane.  In addition, he is survived by Jane Ann Vail, significant other and loving grandmother to the family, as well as two brothers - Dale (Pamela) Hutzelman  and Gene (Jennifer) Hutzelman, and several nieces and nephews.

If Bob wasn’t at the office, he could be found on the golf course, working on his John Deere tractors, browsing the parking lots for new BMWs, or spending time at his grandsons’ sporting events.  He never missed a game; his presence will be truly missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at West Chester Presbyterian Church, 8930 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, OH, 45069.  A Christian Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. The burial will take place immediately following the service at West Chester Cemetery (Brookside), 6425 West Chester Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069.

To Rob, David, Annie and your families: we were so sad to hear about your dad. I remember as a kid looking over in the crowd or up in the stands and seeing him at every basketball game, football game, baseball game, and swim meet. Thoughts and prayers are with your family during these hard days. Much love to all.

Dave and I were shocked to hear of Bob’s passing. I spoke to Bob within earlier this year. We chatted about our children and grandchildren. I asked him about retirement and his response was “I love what I do. I get to work with my son. I can practically roll down the hill to the office. ” He looked out for Dave’s and my best interests professionally & was a joy to see and talk with. My heart goes out to his family. May God’s peace comfort you today & always.

So shocked to hear of Bob's passing. He was one of those I thought would live to be 100. As they say..the good die young...and he was one of the greatest guys I've known for the past 50+ years. It was an honor to be in his and your mom's wedding, as was having your mom as my maid of honor in mine. Jane was my best friend since Jr high and Bob became one of my best friends as well once they started dating. I knew I could always count on him for good advice, whether it be in regards to insurance or life itself. He was truly one of a kind and a guy everyone admired, which was obvious by the turnout for his funeral. My sincerest sympathy to all of you. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Sending condolences and prayers to Bob's family. As far back as I can remember my brother Guice, Vince, Bob and Dave have been the "Fabulous Four". There are dozens of pictures over the years of the four of them at various events and times in their lives. They were so great together. I am like everyone else just stunned and heartbroken about Bob. Blessings to his family. Rest in peace Bob....you will never be forgotten and will always be missed.

I've know the Hutzelman family since I was 5 when I was blessed with Mrs. Hutzelman as my kindergarten teacher. So that is probably how long I've also know the rest of the family. Bob, so many great memories over the years with all of you. I am so saddened to hear of your passing. May you RIP. Keeping all in our prayers.

Bob was a natural leader from early on. If there was a “leader of the class” of Lakota in 1970 it was Bob. Condolences to all.

My heart is torn to pieces over Bob's passing. We had so many great times with numerous golf trips and Derby weekends over more than a 20 year span. To the Hutzelman family: I love you guys. So many memories of Bob and all of you present and past. Remembering his face, laughter and devotion to his family. One special memory that always shows up is how he and I would tackle June Ann's cookie jar hunting for the cookies with the most chips. To the kids: When you feel his absence most, keep a conversation going with your dad/uncle. He's in another place - just on the other side now. I picture him being with those he has loved and lost as he watches over each of you. God bless you all and bring you comfort and peace as you continue to be there for each other. xoxox
