My deepest sympathies to the Courtney family and all who loved Roger. He left a lasting mark on so many lives and was so good to everyone he met. A man that hath friends must show himself friendly, and Roger surely was a friend to many, many people. He will always be loved and remembered dearly.

I had the pleasure of working at Chester’s Roadhouse with Roger as my boss. He was an awesome boss and I remember many conversations we had about music, which we both loved. He would even make mixed Cds for any employee that wanted one. He was a very kind and professional boss, and he did an amazing job running that restaurant. Recently I reconnected with him on facebook, and he sent a kind message to me about the recent loss of my mom, which he said he remembered her well. Such a giving and caring soul he was. My condolences to his family and so many friends

Dear Mrs. Courtney and family,
My heart goes out to you during this very difficult time! Roger was a good friend to me, not only at Chester’s, but after those years (he helped me get through a painful time, and I will never forget that). I hope it gives you some comfort to know that he touched so many people with his fun and caring ways. he sure sure did like to laugh!
You are very much in my thoughts and in my prayers. Roger will be missed and remembered dearly.
Warmest regards,
Lora

It’s a sad day for many people. Roger was always the one who would bring you back up, no matter what you were going through. I am reminded of all the things that have gone wrong in the last month, and he is the one who would always say, “Babe, you can’t let the stupid stuff get you down. If you do, and you play on their level, you are no better than they are. Keep your head up, and smile.”

God bless you and the lives you changed along the way…I still have a compilation CD you made for me while at “Chesters”…long live the “Roadhouse” and its former Captain.
